Our NurseryPoppins Day Nursery

Our nursery operates from a purpose built building set  back from the road, and has a large enclosed outdoor play area to the front. We therefore, offer a safe caring environment where your child can develop and become a confident and happy individual.

The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year, excluding all bank holidays, from 7.30am – 6.00pm.

Working in partnership with you as parents is an important part of our role and we endeavour to involve parents/carers as much as possible.
To achieve this here at Poppins you will find an open door policy exists, that invites and welcomes all parents to spend time with us and your child.

We hold special events such as parents evenings and open days and keep you regularly updated on what is going on through quarterly newsletters and daily diaries as well as our parent's notice board.

All our staff are carefully selected so that here at Poppins we have an experienced qualified and dedicated team whose primary aim is the welfare and development of your child.

We operate a key worker system where each member of staff works closely with a small number of children and their families. Not only will this system ensure that the child feels safe and settled but it is also another way of 'bridging the gap' between home and nursery and develops our parental partnership

As a registered OFSTED nursery the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidelines (EYFS) are followed in each room. This ensures that the four EYFS themes are met:

  • Learning & developing
  • Enabling environments
  • The unique child
  • Positive relationships

The nursery is divided in to three areas according to the age and development of your child:

  • Caterpillar Room
  • Butterfly Room
  • Ladybird Room

To utilise staff expertise and develop close relationships with your child all staff are assigned to a specific room.
