Caterpillar Room 12 weeks – 2 years

Poppins has a self contained baby unit, consisting of a separate sleep room, creative and dining area, a physical/soft play room and one large play room which is divided into two age/stage appropriate play areas.

A nappy changing area provides privacy during intimate care and a kitchenette for the preparation of snacks and milk storage. 

The Caterpillar Room reflects a home from home nurturing environment.  Rooms are spacious and calm enabling the children to learn, develop and explore in a safe, stimulating and loving environment alongside dedicated, qualified practitioners that have vast experience and knowledge of this age range.

We aim to mirror your baby's routine when your baby first starts with us. To this end all of your baby's needs and developments are discussed with your child's key worker during their settle sessions to ensure a smooth and effective transition.

All babies' day-to-day routines and developments are recorded in their own special daily diary on the Ovivio app and discussed with you upon collection.

With the introduction of the 30hr entitlement for working parents, who qualify, of children from 9months to 5yrs, from September 2025, we offer these 30 hrs in one of two ways: 30 hrs over 3 days per week term time only OR the 'stretched offer' where children receive up to 24 hrs per week for 48 weeks of the year. With the stretched offer there is no funding during the following weeks: 2 weeks at Easter, 1 week August Bank Holiday week and 1 week at Christmas. Children are expected to attend all year around - we do not offer term time only places. When no funding is available our normal daily rate is charged. On a 'funded day/session' food costs are charged.
